"Unknown" got some recognition and snagged the top spot at the box office this weekend.
The film, which stars Liam Neeson, Aidan Quinn and January Jones, took in $21.8 million in its debut. The action flick traces the tribulations of an easygoing scientist who awakens from a coma to find his identity has been stolen and his wife claims not to know him.
"I Am Number Four," an action film aimed at teens, took the second spot on itsopening weekend, at $19.5 million.The Disney animated comedy-romance "Gnomeo and Juliet" kept its No. 3 rank with $19.4 million in ticket sales. The lighter version of the Shakespeare classic features star-crossed gnomes struggling to overcome parental prejudice.
Martin Lawrence's "Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son," which also hit theaters this weekend, finished fifth, with $17million. In fourth place was "Just Go With It," which was No. 1 last weekend.
