Egyptian constitutional committee proposes shrinking presidential term

An Egyptian army-appointed constitutional committee on Saturday announced a set of proposed amendments which stipulate that the presidential term is reduced to four years and a two-term limit is imposed.

Earlier the country had a 6-year term with unlimited reelection opportunities.

The Egyptian military plan to submit the revised constitution to a referendum within two months.
