Cox on Arquette in rehab: I 'admire' his decision

Courteney Cox may be separated from David Arquette, but the actress is still supporting her husband as he battles his demons.

"I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life," Cox told People.com about Arquette's decision to enter a rehab facility after New Year's.

"I love and support him," she added.

The couple, who announced in October that they had split months earlier, have one child, daughter Coco, 6.

Arquette's publicist confirmed to the Daily News Monday that the "Scream" actor had entered treatment but provided no other information.

He is reportedly seeking help for alcohol addiction and depression.

As for reports that Arquette, 39, chose the Betty Ford Center for his recovery, a source tells The News that "may not be correct."

Last month, Arquette admitted on Howard Stern's radio show that he was having a nervous breakdown, only to backtrack two days later on Twitter.

"It is being reported that I'm having a Nervous Breakdown. I assure you am not," he tweeted.

Arquette had also said in the interview that he becomes a "maniac" when he drinks and "everybody is worried and concerned about me."

He explained that his wild behavior stemmed from being "heartbroken" about his split from Cox, 46.

"I want love in my life," he told Stern. "I need love in my life."

It's possible Arquette's rehab stay will help repair his marriage. Shortly after their separation was announced, Cox said she didn't "know what will happen, but this is not like we're getting divorced."

"Whatever is supposed to happen will be the best thing for us," the "Cougar Town" actress said.
