Glee Receives 16 Nominatons As the 2011 Award Season Nears

As 2010 comes to a close, nominations for various Hollywood award shows are continuously being announced and Glee has been one of the few comedies to be acknowledged for this upcoming award season.

First to air is the People Choice Awards, in which Glee has received 5 nominations:

Glee for Favorite TV Comedy
Matthew Morrison for Favorite TV Comedy Actor
Jane Lynch for Favorite TV Comedy Actress
Britney Spears for Favorite TV Guest Star
Neil Patrick Harris for Favorite TV Guest Star

The People's Choice Awards will air live January 5, 2011 at 9/8c on CBS.

Next to air is the Golden Globes, in which Glee has received 5 nominations:

Lea Michele for Best Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical
Jane Lynch for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or TV Movie
Matthew Morrison for Best Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical
Chris Colfer for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or TV Movie
Glee for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical

The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live coast to coast on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 8pm EST / 5pm PST on NBC with Ricky Gervais as the ceremony's host.

Next to air is the Screen Actors Guild Awards, in which Glee has received 3 nominations:

Jane Lynch for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series
Chris Colfer for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series
Glee for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series

The 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will air live coast to coast on January 30, 2011 at 8pm ET/5pm PT from the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles and will air on TNT and TBS.

The Writer's Guild Awards start out the award ceremonies for the month of February. Glee, written by Ian Brennan, Brad Falchuk, Ryan Murphy has been nominated for Best Comedy Series. The 2011 Writers Guild Awards will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011.

Lastly, Glee has received 2 nominations for The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards:

Don't Stop Believin' (Regionals Version) for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With VocalsGlee: The Music, Volume 1 for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will air February 13, 2011 at 8pm ET/PT on CBS.

Nominations for the 2011 Producers Guild Awards will be announced on January 4, 2011, so Glee still has room to add onto its 16 nominations for the 2011 Award Season!

Glee is scheduled to return with brand new episodes in less than 8 weeks.
