Bloodline Champions video: Watch the Seeker seek and destroy

Bloodline Champions has entered open beta, and Stunlock Studios has released a new video showcasing The Seeker, a ranged, bow-wielding powerhouse. Watch Stunlock Studios’ eSports Manager James “size doesn't matter" Harding as he seeks and destroys opponents with The Seeker Bloodline.

The Seeker is primarily a fast, high damage ranged juggernaut with a variety of area of effect (AoE) attacks and rapid-fire attacks. The Seeker’s abilities include:

Seeker Strike (LMB)—A basic ranged attack, but when you connect with three successful attacks, any of your special abilities becomes a ‘double cast’ which casts it twice.

Fire Arrow (RMB)—A burning arrow that goes through opponents and leaves a scorched area of ground that inflicts damage over time.

Blitz (Spacebar)—Blitz doubles the Seeker’s movement speed, and if he moves through an opponent, he briefly incapacitates them.

Ice Arrow (V)—This AoE power rains down arrows in a large area.

Multishot (E)—Fires a cone-shaped spread of arrows that inflicts minor damage but slows and knocks back enemies slightly.

Illusion (R)—This defensive ability can negate incoming attacks for a short period.

Rapid Fire (F)—This ultimate ability increases the Seeker’s movement and his attack speed for all abilities, allowing him to rapidly dish out tons of damage.

The Seeker also has two alternate abilities (‘Ex abilities’—essentially variants of existing powers):

Ex Lightning Arrow—Alternate of Fire Arrow that also travels through opponents, but in more of a chain-lightning pattern.

Ex Frost Arrow—The alternate version of Ice arrow slows are even incapacitates enemies caught in the area.

Check out the video of The Seeker in action.

Bloodline Champions is scheduled for a late 2010 release, and we've already enjoyed the beta so much that we've placed the game on our Best PC Games of 2010 list (so hopefully it actually launches by the end of this year).

Bloodline Championsis an innovative PvP battle arena game that shares some characteristics with games such as League of Legends. Like League of Legends, you control a single champion character armed with a handful of special abilities, playing as part of a team in a 3v3 or 5v5 arena-style match.

Bloodline Champions is based upon pure twitch-based action. Entering an arena with up to 5 team mates, your goal is relatively simple: stay alive and kill the other team. There are a variety of game modes, but Team Deathmatch is a persistent community favorite, and you can easily play a half-dozen games in about thirty minutes.

Publisher Funcom and developer Stunlock Studios recently revealed that Bloodline Champions will be free-to-play (F2P) and supported by micro-transactions.
