Slideshow: Hurricane Tomas hits Haiti (photos)
On Friday, Hurricane Tomas flooded several areas in Haiti, including the capital city of Port-au-Prince -- the same location that was devastated by a massive earthquake in January.
According to the Associated Press, individuals who had already lost their homes in the quake were now forced to take refuge due to Tomas.
The country has also recently suffered a cholera outbreak resulting in the death of over 500 Hatians.

Thigh-high water inundated the city forcing residents to head to high ground and wait out the rest of the storm under blankets.
“We got flooded out and we’re just waiting for the storm to pass. There’s nothing we can do,” said one resident, Johnny Joseph.
Other cities in Haiti, including Jeremie and Les Cayes were battered by Tomas’ 75 mph winds as well.
The AP reports that at least three people died as a result of the storm.
According to the report, Haiti’s civil protection department informed residents living in camps due to the earthquake, to flee to the homes of family and friends if possible. Nonetheless, many ignored the warning fearing the only possessions they had left may be stolen.
U.S. Marines are at the ready on the USS Iwo Jima off Haiti’s coast, should relief supplies be needed.
