Eugenie Blanchard was the world’s oldest person.She has died on the island of St. Barts in the Caribbean.She has lived in the geriatric ward of the Bruyn Hospital for the past 30 years.Eugenie was born on St. Barts on Feb. 16, 1896.She was a nun and lived in a convent on Curacao in the Caribbean. In 1950 she returned to her birthplace and has lived there since.Known as “Sweets”, she worked hard taking care of her garden and some animals.
