When you come to start wrapping a parcel, the best place to start is by buying some good quality packing materials. It is false economy to settle for the cheap option. If there is a chance of the items breaking then use something soft such as tissue paper or newspaper to block any empty spaces - this will prevent the contents slipping around in transit. Bubble wrap can be used to cushion the items and you should secure this with heavy duty brown tape.
Use strong cardboard to cover the bubble wrap and once again brown tape to seal it in place.
Extra pieces of cardboard can be used at the end of the package to act as shock absorbers. Thick brown paper will add a professional finish to your package and provide a good surface for writing the recipient's address on. Make sure to include your own address on the back of the package just in case.
And before handing any package over to a parcel courier, ensue it has the correct documentation, such as a CN22 sticker, if the items are being sent to a destination outside of the European Union.
As the saying goes, practice makes perfect, and you will find that the more parcels you wrap, the easier and quicker it gets. It's also quite possible you will receive comments from appreciative customers commenting on the quality of your packing and grateful that you've taken the time and energy to make sure their items are as secure as possible. Should an accident occur during transit and something gets broken, a customer is far more likely to be understanding if they know you have done your best to protect the items to start with.
