CHICAGO, ILL. – A former Marine has been found guilty of murder for killing his neighbor whose dog urinated on his lawn.
Charles Clements, 69, was found guilty of second degree murder in the shooting death of Joshua Funches, 23, on Friday.
Clements faces up to 4 to 20 years in prison with an option for probation.
In May 2009, Funches was walking his dog passed Clemet’s home when the dog stop to urinate on Clement’s lawn. The two men got into an argument over the dog when Clements pulled out a gun and shot Funches in the abdomen, according to authorities.
Funches was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Clements earned a community award for his emaculate yard and was known to harass anyone who stepped anywhere near his lawn.
Clements sentencing is scheduled for December 21st.
