Kevin Smith said that while filming the flick "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" with Seth Rogen, he was inspired to do a lot more than make X-rated jokes.
Like smoke more weed, for starters.
"One of the most talented people I worked with in my life was Seth Rogen," Smith said in a talk broadcasted on MTV.com. "I got so much from him. He reenergized me in a weird way. I became a stoner because of Seth Rogen."
Rogen's affinity for weed shouldn't have been a surprise to Smith. The "Zack and Miri" movie was just the latest in which grass plays a big role for Rogen's character. But the director told MTV he'd only gotten high a couple of times before spending time with Rogen.
After watching the curly-haired star, Smith said he was inspired by the way Rogen had beaten the odds to become a functioning person - despite being high most of the time.
"He made it seem like career stoning was possible," Smith said. "I was like, this is a functioning stoner. This is the first person I've ever met who’s a weed-smoker. Dude comes to work on time, has brilliant ideas, never has a problem, he’s constantly writing, he's productive."
Smith said he'd be forever grateful to Rogen for that realization.
"The moment I start smoking, I start working. ..." he said "That way, no one could ever take it away from you. No one could ever say, 'You fat, lazy piece of sh-- stoner!'"
